NAGA New England Results

Xcel Brazilian Jiu Jitsu earned more than two dozen medals at last weekend’s North American Grappling Association (NAGA) New England Grappling Championships. The two day tournament that was held in Warwick Rhode Island kicked off the 2013 competition season. The first day of the tournament was led by team Xcel’s Jim Manning who took double gold in both masters expert no gi and masters gi purple belt. Team Xcel’s Kyle Fertig also earned gold in men’s novice no gi. In total the adults earned 12 medals on Saturday. Sunday was the kids time to shine earning 14 medals of their own. Luis Cortes earned double gold while borthers Christian and Justin Fall earned gold in their intermediate gi age groups. Team Xcel’s coach Marcio Silva had this to say about the NAGA results “I am extremely proud of all or our participants. Everyone worked really hard leading up to the tournament. Even more importantly the entire team competed with honor and respect.”
